BATTLE GROUND — In two weeks, the City Council will be asked to adopt traffic impact fees, a move that would add $2,869 to the cost of a new single-family home.
The council got its first look Monday night at the cost for tacking a charge on development to help pay for street improvements.
The proposed fee for single-family residences would be among the highest in Clark County.
There appears to be consensus on the seven-member council that traffic impact fees are needed in a city that has been overwhelmed by residential growth during the second half of the 1990s.
The real question is whether the council will go along with the fees ...
