If the warnings from Democrats Saturday were any preview, voters this year are going to hear plenty about Republicans being a menace to public education.
One after another, Democratic candidates for the Legislature and Congress attacked Republican-backed notions such as school vouchers, no-strings-attached grants, public money for religious schools and the ordering of teachers to spend certain amounts of time on certain subjects, such as phonics.
The forum was the biannual Clark County Democratic convention at Vancouver's Rudy Luepke Center.
