The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, James Sensenbrenner,
is threatening to subpoena Attorney General John Ashcroft if he doesn'
t get more information about how the Justice Department is implementing
its new antiterrorism powers. In June, Sensenbrenner, along with
the ranking Democrat on the committee, John Conyers, sent the Justice
Department a list of 50 questions to help Congress assess how the
