Dateline: ZURICH, Switzerland The people of Switzerland _ the newest member of the United Nations _ are opposed to an attack on Iraq, even with a U.N. mandate, according to a survey published Wednesday.

Only a quarter of people surveyed believe the United States should attack Iraq with U.N. approval, while 58 percent said they were opposed. If there is no mandate, 82.5 percent said they were against the attacks, while just over 6 percent said the United States should act anyway.

The results were published to coincide with Sept. 11 observances by the mass circulation daily Blick, which removed color and photographs from its front page and replaced it with the headline ...
