Commentary: Major-league baseball umpires may be following the wrong
guy to a walkout set for September 2nd

Major-league baseball still faces the prospect of a mass resignation
of umpires. Last week most members of the Major League Baseball Umpires
Association filed resignation notices. The action is due to take
effect September 2nd. It's being led by Richie Phillips, the lawyer
for the association. Commentator Frank Deford says Phillips and the
umpires may be gambling with the games they've already made.
