It's been 55 years since the Broadway debut of "A Streetcar Named Desire," voted the number one play of the 20th century by the American Theatre Critics Association. The show is still playing in theaters around the world and gave birth to an Academy Award-winning movie. Playwright Tennessee Williams broke cultural and political barriers with the steamy, tragic tale of a fallen Southern belle.
