Isidore to remain a tropical storm

MIAMI, Sep 25, 2002 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Tropical storm Isidore swept toward the northern Gulf Coast Wednesday but its 60 mph winds were not expected to intensify to hurricane strength before it makes landfall, forecast for Louisiana Thursday morning.

Tropical storm Lili was weakening south of the Dominican Republic and there was a chance it would all but disappear.

A hurricane watch for Isidore remained in effect from Cameron, La., to Pascagoula, Miss., the National Hurricane Center in Miami said. A tropical storm warning is in effect from High Island, Texas, to Destin, Fla.
