Gramm to become investment banker
WASHINGTON, Oct 07, 2002 (United Press International via COMTEX) -
- Sen. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, announced Monday he will become an investment
banker and vice-chairman of UBS Warburg when he leaves the Senate
in January.
Gramm, who was an economics professor at Texas A&M University before
he was elected to Congress nearly 24 years ago, announced last year
he would retire from the Senate at the end of his current term.
"In academics I studied job creation and economic growth," he said.
"As a senator, I championed policies to promote economic growth, free
