(Daily Targum) (U-WIRE) NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- With only 28 days remaining
until election day, the Democratic campaign for senate can officially
start now that the U.S. Supreme Court decided Monday not to make a
ruling on the ballot dispute between the Republicans and Democrats.
Robert Torricelli's withdrawal from the Senate race because of increased
attention focused on his ethics by the Republican campaign left the
Democrats scrambling to find a candidate.
During that time, former Sen. Frank Lautenberg, 78, accepted the Democrats'
offer to replace Torricelli on the ballot. However, the Republicans
