Acting Under Secretary of Transportation for Security Adm. James
M.
Loy today announced the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
has
awarded three contracts for private screening companies to provide
both
passenger and baggage screening at Kansas City International Airport,
Greater
Rochester International Airport and Jackson Hole Airport. Contracts
for
San Francisco International Airport and Tupelo Airport in Mississippi
will
be announced Oct. 11.
These five airports are participating in a federal pilot program
allowing private companies to provide passenger and baggage screening
as
specified in the Aviation and Transportation Security Act of 2001.
