Corpus Christi braces for more storms

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, Oct 25, 2002 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Schools were closed Friday and more rain was forecast for Corpus Christi, Texas, where residents were cleaning up after a tornado killed a teacher and injured 14 other people.

The National Weather Service said there was a 70 percent chance of more rain Friday in the Texas Gulf coast city where schools were closed because of Thursday's deadly twister.

About 39,000 students were given the day off because widespread damage that included at least one middle school and the central kitchen for the system.
