Dateline: KINSHASA, Congo Congo forcibly expelled about 20 Rwandan Hutu rebel leaders, repudiating their onetime military allies after a new peace deal with neighboring Rwanda, the rebels and Congo officials said Thursday.

The men were political leaders of Rwandan Hutu rebels who had fought alongside the government in the 4-year, multination war in Congo.

They were shipped home to Rwanda on Monday, after being blocked on a Congo River beach when they had tried to cross out of western Congo.
