Vic: Vic growth rate better than predicted: Govt
MELBOURNE, Nov 13 AAP - Victoria's growth rate was the third highest
in the country
but still above the national average, according to Australian Bureau
of Statistics figures
released today.
Premier Steve Bracks today said Gross State Product (GSP) grew
by 4.9 per cent in the
last financial year.
He said this was higher than the 3.9 per cent predicted in the
state budget and almost
one percentage point higher than the national average of four per
cent.
"So not only have we achieved on the growth targets we set for
ourselves, we've exceeded
those and we're significantly above those of the national growth ...
