NSW: $300 fine for drivers blocking level crossing

SYDNEY, Nov 13 AAP - Drivers caught blocking or queuing on a level crossing would face a $300 fine under new road safety regulations to be introduced in NSW.

Fines for entering a level crossing when a warning device was operating would also rise from $74 to $209 under the new measures which take effect on January 1.

Transport Minister Carl Scully, who unveiled the new regulations in parliament, said the moves were in response to a series of level crossing incidents.
