Police on Wednesday released seven men and sent 66 others to the military
prosecutor for further questioning on possible links to a banned group
allegedly led by an anti-American, militant Muslim preacher, security
officials said.
Investigations indicated the seven Jordanians had no links to the
group said to be based in the southern town of Maan and led by Mohammad
Ahmad al-Chalabi, the officials told The Associated Press on customary
condition of anonymity.
