A philosopher king's farewell in Prague
PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Nov 21, 2002 (United Press International via
COMTEX) -- It took a rock group, a classical orchestra, a chorus of
60 singers and the military brass band from Prague castle to give
a farewell celebration Thursday to Czech President Vaclav Havel.
Along with President George W. Bush, 26 heads of state and government,
and 700 other selected guests, the musicians all serenaded the old
dissident playwright at the gala dinner of the NATO summit, Havel'
s last spotlight appearance on the world stage.
The massed musicians played John Lennon's "Power to the People," a
