News analyst Daniel Schorr says the Christian right may have played
a role in George Bush's win yesterday in Virginia, but he says it
may have a bigger and more long-term impact on the Republican Party
itself.

Virginia is about as good as it gets for a candidate fighting off
an assault on the Christian right. Exit polls indicate that 80 percent
of those committed to the religious right chose Governor Bush over
