Tuesday, December 24, 2002 -- A panel of seven justices of the High Court of Justice on Monday unanimously rejected a petition by a single woman who wanted to use a surrogate mother to have a child.

The woman, who was backed by the New Family organization and represented by attorney Gilad Sher, argued that she was being discriminated against compared to women with male partners who are allowed to have children using surrogate mothers.
