Pakistan on Friday reacted angrily to a travel ban for a senior Muslim
leader who opposes Indian control over Kashmir, saying India is trying
to "brutally suppress the freedom movement" in the region.
Umar Farooq, a leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference _ a 23-
party separatist alliance _ had his passport revoked by the Indian
government on grounds of "national interest."
Farooq was due to leave for the United States on Friday with his American-
born wife.
