The United Church of Canada was formed 10 June 1925 by union of thePRESBYTERIAN Church in Canada, theMETHODIST Church (Canada, Newfoundland and Bermuda), theCONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES of Canada, and the General Council of Local Union Churches. The General Council represented a group of congregations, mainly in Saskatchewan, which had come together in anticipation of the larger union.
