Crosstown rivals AC Milan and Inter Milan both won Sunday to keep a share of first place in the Italian Serie A while Thierry Henry scored his 100th goal with Arsenal as the English Premier League leaders outclassed Birmingham City and increased their lead to five points.

In Spain, undefeated leader Real Sociedad managed to draw 2-2 with defending champion Valencia while Real Madrid closed to within one point after beating Celta de Vigo 1-0 on a goal by Ronaldo.

AC Milan got goals from Andriy Shevchenko and Serginho to beat Bologna 2-0 while Inter topped Modena by the same score. Alvaro Recoba and Hernan Crespo scored for Inter.
