Stocks rose Wednesday, led by Bank Leumi after it said it will try to cut its payroll by 4 percent through early retirement incentives.

The TA-25 index rose 1.6% to 321.39 after falling 0.8% Tuesday. Twenty stocks rose, four fell, and one was unchanged.

Bank Leumi jumped 3.1% to NIS 4.62. Bank Hapoalim, which fired 800 employees and sent 100 to early retirement last week, rose 3.7% to 6.44.

Elbit Systems Ltd. climbed 1.6% to 78.40. It said it received an order from the navy to upgrade observation ...
