Hertz vs. Avis: Two Car Rental Magnates Strive for China Market

SHANGHAI, Jan 22, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- After half a century' s tense competition in overseas market, Hertz Rent-a-Car and Avis Rent A Car System, Inc. has shifted their battlefield to China.

An insider disclosed that the global leading car rental enterprise Hertz will hold its Meeting of Presidents Asia in Shanghai this March. It is the first time Hertz hold president meeting in developing country.

The second largest car hire enterprise Avis, after about one year' s effort, announced that Avis co-established the first car rental company in China in collaboration with Shanghai Angel Car Rental Com. ...
