Qld: Canine Houdini escapes from aircraft cargo hold

TOWNSVILLE, Jan 24 AAP - A silky terrier has proven to be a canine Houdini by breaking out of an aircraft cargo hold and leaping onto the tarmac.

Five-year-old Moe was travelling on a Virgin flight from Sydney to Cairns on Monday when he managed to find his way out of an approved cage.

Virgin Blue spokeswoman Amanda Bolger said Moe, who had a history of Houdini-like escapes, became curious and began running around the luggage hold.

"He has jumped up on the cargo hold door and pushed ... the emergency release handle with his paws in flight," she told AAP today.
