The Malaysian government Monday urged the United States and Britain
to be more sensitive to world opinion and avoid "arrogance" by attacking
Iraq without U.N. backing.
"They must start to listen to the voice of the international community,
" Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar told a news conference. "It is
sheer arrogance if you ignore the views of the international community,
because at the end of the day, you cannot give the excuse that there
is the right of pre-emptive action."
