Dateline: SAN DIEGO The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, once the laughingstock of the NFL, routed the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in the Super Bowl, sparked by a fearsome defense, a suddenly dynamic offense and a coach who brought the final fiery touch.

"For all this franchise has been through, nothing could be sweeter, " veteran safety John Lynch said Sunday. "Super Bowl champs. Wow!"
