Sunday, February 2, 2003 -- In theory it is only right that hotels pay record companies for the use of recordings the hotels play for their guests, but in a period when the hotels have experienced the worst year ever they are hardly in a position to pay out large sums.

As a solution to this problem, the Hotel Association and the Israel Record Federation of Record Companies recently signed an agreement according to which the hotels will pay the record companies, but the payments will vary according to the occupancy of the hotel.
