Fed: Financial planners offering poor service: Report

CANBERRA, Feb 11 AAP - Some financial planners are offering extremely
poor advice and
pushing clients into new funds to line their own pockets, a new report
has found.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and
Australian Consumers
Association (ACA) report found many people were not getting the advice
they deserved.
Both the federal government and Labor Party said the report was
a cause for alarm,
showing some financial planners would fail to meet standards set in
new national laws
governing the industry which start next month.
