This is TALK OF THE NATION. I'm Melinda Penkava in Washington, in
for Neal Conan.
One year after the 1999 NATO bombings that stopped the war in Kosovo,
American Paula Huntley found herself in Pristina teaching English.
To help the lessons along, she chose a tool that proved to be surprisingly
powerful, the American-style book club, and she also chose, in a country
ripped apart by war, a simple story that resonated with her students.
It was Ernest Hemingway's "Old Man and the Sea." And with that was
born the Hemingway Book ...
