Random House Inc. on Thursday named Daniel Menaker as senior vice
president and editor-in-chief within the Random House Ballantine Publishing
Group, replacing the executive it fired last month for not making
the company profitable enough.
Menaker is a highly respected editor who has worked at Random House,
