King Bhumibol Adulyadej was admitted to a Bangkok hospital Tuesday
for a hernia operation, the Royal Household Bureau said.
The operation took place at state-run Siriraj Hospital, where the
king and other members of the royal family are usually treated, a
statement from the bureau said. It did not give details about the
king's condition or say if the operation had been completed.
King Bhumibol, who is the world's longest reigning monarch and revered
by most Thais, has been suffering for several years from a hernia.
