King Bhumibol Adulyadej was admitted to a Bangkok hospital Tuesday
for a hernia operation, the Royal Household Bureau said.
The operation took place at state-run Siriraj Hospital, where the
king and other members of the royal family are usually treated, a
statement from the bureau said. It did not say if the operation, which
began at about 5:25 p.m. (1025GMT), had been completed or what the
king's condition was.
