Dateline: BANGKOK, Thailand
Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej was back on his feet and recovering
from a hernia operation after successful surgery, the royal palace
said Wednesday.
The latest check of the 75-year-old king's health showed that his
temperature, heartbeat, breathing and blood pressure were normal,
said a statement from the Royal Household Bureau.
The announcement did not say when he would be released from the hospital.
The king had a successful 1 1/2 hour operation Tuesday evening at
Bangkok's state-run Siriraj Hospital from which he suffered no side
effects, his doctors said.
