Dateline: PANAMA CITY, Panama Anti-drug prosecutors are investigating Panamanian bank accounts, hunting for illicit funds Guatemala's president may have deposited there, a top-ranking government official said Wednesday.

Last year, a Guatemalan legislative commission determined there was enough evidence from witnesses and documents to support allegations that President Alfonso Portillo, Vice President Francisco Reyes and other state officials opened suspicious bank accounts and businesses in Panama to embezzle state funds.
