National Trademark to Disappear in China

BEIJING, Apr 29, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Japanese home appliance giant Panasonic disclosed on April 23 that it would no longer use its initial brand - National in overseas market. Instead, it would use Panasonic as its only overseas brand.

Panasonic said that National brand in China, Southeast Asia and Middle East would be replaced by Panasonic trademark from the second half of this year. The whole job will be completed by the end of 2003.

Panasonic also said that it would continue using National trademark in Japan, since two brands enjoyed equal market share.
