Dusty Baker actually had to ask for directions to the visitors' clubhouse
at Pacific Bell Park. Coming from the fan parking lot and entering
the stadium a different way had mixed him up.
"I had an idea," he said. "I just didn't want to waste time going
the wrong way."
The first-year Chicago Cubs' manager showed few outward signs of emotion
before leading Chicago to a 4-2 win in the opener of a three-game
series against his former team, but you could hear it in his voice.
It's been only six months since he took the Giants to their first
World Series since 1989.
