Astros shortstop Julio Lugo was arrested and charged with hitting
his wife in the face and slamming her head on a car hood before a
game.
Lugo was freed on $50,000 bond Thursday after spending the night in
jail. She was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.
Mabel Lugo said she was attacked by her husband Wednesday afternoon
before Houston's home loss to the Atlanta Braves, Houston police spokeswoman
Silvia Trevino said Thursday.
Astros spokesman Warren Miller said the team was trying to gather
all the facts.
The 27-year-old infielder was arrested at Minute Maid Park after the
11-1 loss Wednesday night, Trevino said. ...
