Dateline: FREETOWN, Sierra Leone Sierra Leone officials confirmed the body of a man killed by Liberian troops was the feared warlord Sam Bokarie, Sierra Leone President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah said Thursday.

Sierra Leone's international tribunal, which has sought Bokarie for crimes against humanity, said it couldn't immediately confirm his death.

Kabbah said Sierra Leone's ambassador to neighboring Liberia, Patrick Foyah, "positively identified the body of Sam Bockarie," a leader of this west African nation's brutal Revolutionary United Front rebels.
