Top of the table clash fails to produce much magic
AUCKLAND, May 9 (AFP) - Auckland's Blues confirmed their place
at the top
of rugby's Super 12 at the end of the round robin phase here Friday,
with a
solid if uninspiring 29-17 defeat of their southern neighbours, the
Wellington
Hurricanes.
The Blues led 19-10 at half-time in a match which really failed
to live up
to the hype which had produced, for the first time in three years,
a Super 12
full-house on a perfect Eden Park.
The Blues were already guaranteed a home semi-final next weekend,
while the
Hurricanes -- who are also already in the semis -- had the opportunity
to play
