Moderate Catholic leaders accused Sinn Fein of using fascist tactics
Thursday after the Irish Republican Army-linked group forced a meeting
on police reform to be abandoned.
Several dozen protesters chanted and shouted at a joint Catholic-Protestant
panel, which was holding its inaugural public meeting in the town
of Omagh to promote public cooperation with the area's senior police
officers.
The predominantly Protestant force is undergoing a sweeping reform
program that is pegged to new civilian committees being formed throughout
