Qld: ATO ruling a boost to charter boat operators
BRISBANE, May 22 AAP - Confirmation from the Australian Tax Office
that charter boat
owners would not be denied tax deductions would boost the north Queensland
tourism industry,
a leading lobby group said today.
TTF Australia managing director Christopher Brown said the spectre
of retrospective
legislation was raised last September, but the tax change had been
avoided.
"It would have signalled the death of the charter boat sector if
the federal government
had followed on from its draft ruling announced last year," Mr Brown
