Shareholders of Exxon Mobil Corp. supported company management and
rejected environmentalist-backed resolutions on global warming and
renewable energy on Wednesday.
Chairman and chief executive Lee R. Raymond defended the company's
environmental record and said the market for renewable energy was
very limited.
Raymond predicted that wind and solar power would account for less
than 1 percent of world energy by 2020. Oil and gas, he said, will
remain the dominant sources of energy.
Amid tight security one day after environmental activists briefly
blocked access to Exxon Mobil's nearby headquarters, investors at
