NSW: Man loses bid to sue RSL over bus bashing

SYDNEY, June 4 AAP - A man today lost his bid to sue a south-west Sydney RSL club after he was bashed by a drunken passenger on a courtesy bus as he travelled home.

Paul Cross, 31, unsuccessfully attempted to sue Canley Heights RSL Club in the NSW District Court after he was bashed on its courtesy bus on May 9, 1999.

Mr Cross and his then girlfriend Helen Barron caught the bus home about 12.30am after spending about five-and-a-half hours at the club.

Soon after boarding the bus Mr Cross said he noticed two men get on carrying stubbies of beer and appearing very drunk.
