Ace slugger Norihiro Nakamura blasted a two-run homer in the third
inning Friday as the Kintetsu Buffaloes cruised to a 9-3 home victory
over the Nippon Ham Fighters at Osaka.
Naoyuki Omura smashed a solo shot in the first inning, and Kenji Kawaguchi
ensured the victory with a three-run homer in the fifth.
Former St. Louis Cardinals Triple-A right-hander Nerio Rodriguez marked
his Japan debut with the win after allowing eight hits over five innings.
Three relievers held Nippon Ham scoreless the remaining four innings.
Kintetsu is one game short of the Pacific League's front-running Daiei
Hawks, who were idle Friday.
