Katharine Hepburn has died at the age of 96. She died today in Connecticut, the state where she grew up before beginning an acting career that stretched across most of the last century. Her patrician family sent her to the private Bryn Mawr College outside Philadelphia. She later skewered that city's upper class in a play, then a movie called "The Philadelphia Story." She played opposite Jimmy Stewart.
