China's foreign minister said Wednesday that his country supports
any approach to the North Korea nuclear crisis that would bring the
parties to the negotiating table, including one involving participation
from several Asian countries.
"It doesn't matter if it is a three-way dialogue, a five-way dialogue
or a six-way dialogue. The important thing is that we talk," Li Zhaoxing
said on the sidelines of an Asia-Europe foreign ministers' conference.
"There is no point for the country (North Korea) to develop nuclear
weapons," Li said.
Li's comments came as senior officials from China, South Korea and
