Analysis: Abu Mazen attracts attention
GAZA, Jul 24, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, left the Palestinian city of Ramallah on Sunday, headed for the United States, where he plans to meet with U.S. President George W. Bush and other officials in Washington Friday.
The world is watching.
It is the first official visit of its kind since Abu Mazen was designated Palestinian prime minister. In Washington, he will try to convince Bush that Palestinians are eager for peace and coexistence with Israel.
