SAINT-MAIXENT-LECOLE, France, July 25 AAP - As Paris beckons, a pattern is emerging in the battle for one of cycling's highest prizes - the Tour de France green jersey.

In the past two years, the winner of the prestigious sprint points competition has been decided on the Champs Elysees.

This year will be no exception but, instead of one, both protagonists will be Australians.
