Dateline: GRAND BLANC, Michigan British Open champion Ben Curtis has committed to play in the 2003 Buick Open at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club, General Motors Corp.'s Buick Division announced Friday.

Curtis joins U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk and defending Buick Open champion Tiger Woods in the July 31-Aug. 3 tournament, Buick said. The event offers a $4 million purse, including a $720,000 winner's share.

Curtis, 26, of Kent, Ohio, was a PGA Tour rookie ranked No.396 in the world when he won the British Open earlier this month. He became the ninth player to earn his first PGA Tour victory at a major championship.
