Outfielder Hitoshi Tamura drove in a three-run homer off former New
York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu Tuesday as the cellar-dwelling Yokohama
BayStars beat the Central League's front-running Hanshin Tigers 6-
3 at Koshien Stadium.
The victory snapped Yokohama's losing streak against Hanshin at 16.
But Hanshin still maintained an 18.5-game lead over the second-place
Chunichi Dragons, who lost to the Yomiuri Giants.
Tamura belted his ninth home run of the season in the second to give
Yokohama took a 6-3 lead. Tyrone Woods, formerly of South Korea's
Doosan Bears, hit a two-run shot off Hanshin starter Irabu in the
